Hi im new to this forum so please go easy! Im having real problems with my 2004 a3 2.0 tdi dsg. First of all the seal on the mechatronic unit failed letting water into the gearbox, ive had the oil pump, clutch, flywheel, oil cooler all changed. Now its juddering when warm in first /second gear when accelerating also the revs are up and down a bit. I have changed the fuel filter aswell it seems tobe a little better but the judder is still there? Its been on the diagnostic computer and shows no faults on the box so im hoping its not the gearbox still. Any help would be great as i dont know what to do with it now, thanks

Yes had the oil changed twice just incase there was a little water left lurking in the box and the filter, i took the car to inde tec in milton keynes and the mechanic there said hes almost certain its not the box causing me trouble and then told me to change the fuel filter. I have now changed the filter it runs a bit better now but the juddering is still there could the wiring loom for the injectors be the problem? i have heard of this being a problem for cars 2006 onwards but mine is a 2004
They could test the oil to see if its got any coolant in it aswell, think its called a gycol test or are you saying it was an external water leaking into the module?
Fuel filter tends to not even be considered by allot of people until last, its amazing how these can affect the car, but in reality its kind of obvious given thats what makes the car run afterall, they can get so black, a new one sometimes brings a car completely back to power, life etc.

It was external water coming in through a seal on the mechatronic unit caused by it not being fitted correctly, my local mechanic took the car to his gearbox specialists (LEK) who luckily had someone over from germany who is a specialist in dsg boxes who kindly assisted them in putting it all back together. He also pointed out that the unit was a 2007 so it must of had a new unit before i bought it causing the water issue. Im going to try this injector wiring loom now and see if that does the trick just hope its not the injectors as i have heard its mega bucks to fix!
