    Milltek TBE Fitting - S3 SB MY12

As title, how specialist a job is this.?

Does it just need a ramp, spanners, and common sense?
Is it a Kwit-Fit type of job, or should I look for some one that has done it before (not easy)?

    Cheers
    Paul

Down pipe part is the tricky part, but if you've got a ramp and all the correct tools, should only take an hour or hour and a half. I'm not a mechanic but I could do it with the correct tools and a ramp in that time. It's finding someone to let you use the ramp that's the problem.

I reckon any place that deals with exhausts will be able to do it, I only took mine down to AMD Essex as mine needed triming and welding being for 5dr and mine is 3dr otherwise I would use friend of mine for this job.
    Be patient. English is tough.

You need to undo the prop - 3 bolts, push it to one side, you don't need the whole thing off.

To access these bolts, spin a wheel around so the shaft rotates.

Apart from that it bolts onto the turbo with some immensely tight nuts(bit like a nylock but with metal)

Then it's just the hangers and normal clamps.

I took mine to a local garage and they quoted me 4hours, 200quid. As you can guess I told them where to go and did it with a friend at his garage.

Had 2 quotes around £100 from specialists.
Seems reasonable for peace of mind I guess.

So will I have a error code after fitment then?

I wont be getting Stage 2 flash until a CAI is fitted which may be a couple of weeks.

    Cheers

Mine was done for £100, actually thought it was a bit steep, but the bolts onto the turbo can be an arse.

As for the light, It will come and go as it pleases for the time being until you map it out.

It will not affect the car at all. no limp mode, purely just a light to annoy you.

mine was 3h but that included welding and triming the cat back so reasonable for my thinking.

Might have access to some ramps at the weekend and a hand from a guy how has some skills but tools.

Do I need any gaskets, assembly paste etc.?

Do the Turbo bolts require any special tools or is it just a socket and extension?

And do these bolts need any loctite or similar compounds?

    Thanks you please

Gasket for the downpipe. Best to get one as it may not be able to put the old one back on. Plus there only cheap!

someone else will help you with the other questions.

Hi temp exhaust paste to link any pipes together and clamp on top.

I can't fully remember the bolts used on the diff but I think it's a female torx looking one.

Youll see 2 when you get the car up, then spin front wheel and the prop will spin and allow easy access to the other. then push to one side, which gives you just enough room to riggle the down pipe in/out/through.

If you want to be anal, loctite the diff bolts, but there's no real need. just do'em up tight.

its actually very straight forward, however, the bolts on the the turbo feel like they are about as long as your arm.....as each turn is like the first.

Air tools are your friend here.

In regards to the gasket, use the one from your current system. brand fire new, nothing wrong with it, I did.

    Edit**

the bolts feel as long as your arm, but they're not. just difficult to turn, or mine were anyway. the thread isn't actually that long.
