Hi guys, please help

The passenger rear door only opens sometimes for me. Its becoming more annoying now and with a baby on the way its not safe.

When I press the fob to unlock the doors they sometimes all open. Maybe 40% of the time.

If the passenger rear door doesn’t open then I can’t get it open from the inside of the car or by using the unlock button inside the car. I can hear the lock trying to work but it doesn’t make the unlock noise like the other three doors.

After driving to my destination and then locking and then unlocking the doors it seems to work ?
Kinda feels like I’ve driven and something has loosened up on the journey or maybe the battery has charged up and it’s got enough power to open it ? (Both reasons could be wrong but just my thoughts)

Is there something that is easy for me to get to if I get the door card off and lube it up so it moves freely ??
Any advice or guides on how to do this / take the door card off?
Also any other thoughts ?

Thank you for your help !

Hold on, are you saying the locking system works, it just wont open the door, meaning, when you unlock the car with your ear to that door specifically, can you hear the locking mechanism unlocking as such, as locking & door opening are different.

Morning, I could hear the lock working I'm sure but yesterday I tried it all day and I think it's not working now.
The annoying thing is I'm sure it has been.
I've ordered a replacement lick from eBay and was hoping to swap it.
Problem is I can't get the door open!
Is there any way to get the door open or cards off with the door jammed?
I can't see any torex screws on the bottom or round the sides of the other rear door so I'm hoping that I can maybe get the car off with the door closed?
Thanks for help!

Have you tried adjusting the outside door handle? My golf needed this and eventually stopped opening. Big job if it packs in completely.

If its like the golf then the door card has to be butchered. The only access to the mechanism is by taking door skin off from the outside. Get in touch with a vag specialist and see what they say.

Did you confirm the door module version as you cant just order any door lock mate, it has to be specific or at least a superseded part to as such, it may also require coding, as if its used, it may not have all features for that door coded.

If the bar has become loose or moved then this would cause the door to not open/be difficult to open, there are 2 types, one held the bar in place by a metal clip of sort with a plastic tube that slid onto the bera to stop slipping out of place & the newer type was a plastic clip with a clam shell design which obviously held in it place by compression as such, either could cme loose tbh if not fitted properly or subject to fair bit of road noise, although its very scarce.

If you get stuck then you can pop down to me in Manc around the 18th-20th.

Thanks for the replies guys and the offer to look at it

How do I adjust the door handle from outside?

I called Audi and they gave me part number 4F0839015 as the rear left lock. I didn't realised it would have to be coded. Doh!

I can't see any torex screws on the edges of the rear doors. They have some on the front though?

I've got some time next weekend to look properly and I hope that it pops open in the meantime

:(

Need door card of for that, which is going to be tricky with the door stuck shut & the trox bolts are hidden under trims by window switch & upper trim along with on bottom of door card.

Yeah, I can't actually see any torex screws at the bottom of the rear doors.
I can see them on the fronts?
I'll have a better look next weekend.
Thanks again for you help
