Steering rack replacements covered by Audi.

Hi,

This seems to be a well covered subject with regards to the creaking problems on the A3 steering racks. I'm just wondering how many people have actually had theirs replaced under warranty or FOC by Audi, & whether anyone has any supporting evidence to show the work was done?

I've just had my car back from the dealer & the steering rack has started creaking like an old floorboard, after speaking to Audi UK they have denied that there are any issues with the A3 rack (which we all know is rubbish), I'm looking to get as much evidence together to fight my case on this one so any help would be appreciated.

Did they stamp your service book or provide a service print out of any work carried out? Audi UK's technical team have come back & said that there has not been any issues with any A3 racks.
Bit annoying as I can source my own brand new Gen 3 rack for nearly 60% less than dealer price, its the labour that's the pricey bit.
