So this morning i replaced the boot lock catch mechanism which took a matter of minutes BUT the terminals in the electrical connecter are heavily corroded to point where the middle wire (Lock status) has snapped. The preferred option would be to remove the snapped connector using a repair wire (VW Part 000979133E) but as i can't release the securing lugs on the terminal i'm of the opinion the only option available to me is to replace the connector and three wires.
My question is. Do i need to use a specific gauge of repair wire for earth and power or can i use the same wire for all three.
