Ok folks time for a serious update,
The rear splitter is currently with xquisite Automotive been made to fit to a 1 piece rear bumper from a 8p3, so hopefully that should be done soon.
after i completely stripped the interior, (carpet came out too)
i got cracking with installing the speakers, running all the RCA's to the headunit, speaker wire, power wire, and the front air lines,
where possible i followed original wiring and secured them with cable ties and those sticky pad things:
RCA's:
I then designed my sub box, it had to be 26.6 CuFt for optimal performance, this is 26.9 (0.2 sub displacement blah blah) it fits in the spare wheel well and is about 12mm under the level of the boot lip, so when i put my false floor in it should all be nice and level,
then i had to make my adapters for the speakers, was a bit trial and error at first but i got there in the end:
then took the door cards off, sound deadened the door, and fitted the speakers and did the wiring:
rears fitted:
then for the tweeters, i wanted them hidden in the stock location so off come the a pillers and i whipped out the old tweeters ran some cable for the new ones, and secured the new ones in place:
after all that was done, i tested it worked and put all the interior back in the car.
when i took the carpet out i managed to rip the wires out the plug for the accelerator cable so had to get a new plug and solder new wires up: (big thanks to NHN for his help with this)
once that was done i fitted my new S3 pedals:
i do need to get a cover for the foot rest made up though.
when that was all done i did an interior bulb LED upgrade:
also number plate bulbs and sidelights and new headlight bulbs
sidelights:
headlights:
Next onto the fun stuff, the air,
front bags fitted, the white stuff around the airline is heatproof shielding for where it runs in the engine bay,
took the rear swing arms off to grind down the inside:
now i ain't got any pics of the rear bag installation as the phone died, but how much of a ball ache is it to get a 5/16-18 Rivnut? i tried everywhere, and when i found some realised i wouldn't have the correct tool to fit them anyway, so i made the descision to change the bolt that secures the rear bracket to the top perch to a M10, just meant a little more drilling and messing about, but sorted in the end.
tidied up all the boot install and done most the wiring:
our office for the last few days:
and the only decent pic i've got of how the car sits now:
the rears sit perfect imo, but i need to get the notch done, and probably some 5 or 10mm spacers on the front.
next updates will be the making of the false floor, and management controls.
C&C welcome as always
