r32 brakes under 17 audi sport will it work

sorry guys iv left audi now and have an R32 mk5 but this was the best forum iv been on for the knowledge of all the guys on here. i have picked up so much looking over this forum but now have another question. i have been told before, that i can fit my old 17" audi sport alloys with winters tyres. over the brakes on the r32 but id need 4mm spacers.
would i really need these and if so do i only need them on the front.

from what i know the 17s will fit over the r32s as they are 345mm discs and the calipers are the same as the 3.2 Audi A3s and S3s

as you can see he has the standard 17 sports on his which dont come with spacers from the factory.
