S3 Engine Oil

Hi everyone,

I went to Alton Towers with the girlfriend the other week, took the S3, and just after leaving wales the engine oil level warning light came on which was weird as i checked it not long before going. So we stopped in Tewksbury to get some at a layby services and couldnt find one with the 503.01 specification (they only had one type which was mobil), so drove a little further using the RNS as guidance to a nearby shell garage where i got some Shell Helix Ultra.

Just wondering what oil you guys use?

Hello mate, I use Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5W-30...

thought best using 507.01 spec.

Service schedule states:

Petrol engines VW 503 00, VW 503 01, VW 504 00
Diesel engines VW 506 00, VW 506 01, VW 507 00

I use Castrol Edge in mine 5w30.....

Nottingham Audi moved to Shell oil from Mobil earlier this year. Shell Helix 5w 30 synthetic.
