Hi all,

Just doing my calipers and found oil behind the hub? Is this a leaky cv joint?

It's the rubber bit directly behind the hub

Cheers

Is it oil or grease? While you have the wheel off you can check for a split.

I squeezed the rubber bit and air and grease came out so assuming its split? Is that the outer cv joint? Its collecting in the hub.. To be fair though it seemed like oil more than grease

Yuk! Guessing this is the outer cv boot is that right?

Yep its split. Id recognise that ******* grease anywhere - my old enemy.
Outer joint connects to the wheel end, inner to the gear box end.

You going to change it yourself?

Having had it all over me no! I've got a mate who is a mechanic who said 55 quid and he will do it.. He'll pick the car up an drop off so can't grumble really.. That grease is a ***** to get off!

Yeah that grease is horrid stuff. I had to drop the shaft out when i did mine and put the shaft in a vice. They're not too bad a job

Hi all, where can i find the part number for one of these, my mate went to order one and it was £43??!!! So I am going to try and source one but I cant for the life of me find a part number?

Anyone help with this?

I have recently done mine... i did it with a stretch boot and i think it was around 15 quid......CV boots are more of a universal part i think!
