just had my tdi 170 dsg DPF delete and remap from a local tuner found here Welcome - Eco Power Tuning

website states they cut open dpf and remove the guts and weld back up and then add software to cancel DPF out along with a remap.
picked the car up tonight then after 10 minute drive the DPF light came on and plugged in my vag com and engine 01, block 08, channel 075 states lambda (DPF) is 55.5%.

should i be getting this reading if the DPF has supposed to be removed, got in touch with them and they stated it could be exhaust sensor of some sort, common fault he said.

so am i right in guessing the DPF light should not come on at all or am i been stupid lol

all help appreciated
thanks lewis

No, you're not stupid, The guy who mapped it got it a bit wrong, only cure is to take it back as they say.

thanks thought i wasnt been lol he said it maybe the DPF pressure sensor but i thought it the dpf has been deleted it would by pass the sensor

Yes it could be something else like a sensor but I would of thought the mapper would have have that covered as well.

The DPF delete map incorporates the fault codes normally associated with the DPF sensors and should of been mapped out. If the sensors have flagged up a problem then its probably a dodgy sensor. The CR120 Audi that I just did the DPF delete on had exactly the same problem. I plugged in VCDS and cleared them but when they came back on again after a day I checked the codes again and the codes were not related to the remap so after a system of elimination the DPF unit was changed (2 pipes and a lecky plug)which has now cleared the light coming back on again.

Thanks for help guys, still the lights hasn't gone off, car went in Monday all day, my tuner said someone had messed with my ecu before hand with dpf delete and got it wrong, so he got new stock settings for the ecu, and went from there, light wouldn't go out, even with force regen, then little while after MIL light came on, saying g450 sensor, which is dpf sensor and thought we were getting somewhere. So fitted new one and recalibrated it and 2 mins later dpf light went of still with stock ecu file. So went back yesterday to have dpf delete and remap software put back on, but before did that checked dpf and was saying 20% can never get it lower. So did force regen and went for drive and light went off, but still won't go below 20%.
so we thought problem solved so loaded the dpf delete and remap software and all been happy few miles later the light come back on again, can't seem to figure out what it is, could it be his software or maybe if egr is blocked or something, it's really annoying me now. All help appreciated thanks.

Does anybody have any ideas as this is really starting to annoy me.

With regards to your soot level not dropping below 20%, when you changed the g450 sensor did you blow out the soot that may have clogged inside the two pipes? If these are blocked then these could also give you false readings.
i quite often take my 170 for a regen and always monitor the soot levels on vcds, and have never failed to get it to 0%.
So to say you can't get it below 20% then it seems there is still a problem in that area if you have changed the g450 sensor.

Where are you based rick might have to give it a try, in regards to the soot level dropping below 20% my tuner did a 90 mile round trip on motorway and still wouldn't go below 20% that was with the old sensor and now it still won't go below 20% with the new one, but when It does get to 20% on motorway, soon as you slow down the soot level just keeps climbing, it can go upto 50% within 10 minutes.

It's 2 hour drive from me, how much would you charge for your software, as dpf is already deleted.

sounds good if i can get my money back from them, must be his software as why would the dpf light come on with the car has been told it hasnt got one, light has gone off as soot level has dropped to 36% but will come back on in 5 mins when it reaches 50%, been doing few logs on engine, measu block 08, channel 67, say about mbar pressure which am sure is for the g450 sensor and one is above 0 constant and the other is like -200mbar is this the pressure for the two pipes on the g450 sensor and would this indicate its blocked some how, its really annoying me now just want it solved.

also on readiness test i am getting these results

Number of DTCs stored: 0 -- MIL Status: MIL OFF
Misfire monitoring: Not installed.
Fuel System: Passed
Comprehensive Components: Passed
Catalyst monitoring: Not installed.
Heated catalyst monitoring: Not installed.
Evaporative system monitoring: Not installed.
Secondary air system monitoring: Not installed.
A/C system refrigerant monitoring: Not installed.
Oxygen sensor monitoring: Passed
Oxygen sensor heater monitoring: Passed
Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Failed or Incomplete

last one saying
Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Failed or Incomplete does this mean my egr has blocked or is faulty could this be cause of the problem?

I would take it to Rick and stop messing about anymore. How can you turn down an offer to have it done for nowt and only pay if it is sorted.

Yea I know I am going to take it down to rick, just need to speak to him and sort out a day to take it down, just hope i get my money back if he does sort it.

It does get to 20% on motorway, soon as you slow down the soot level just keeps climbing, it can go upto 50% within 10 minutes.

I have a Seat Leon 170 TDI FR that is doing exactly this, however it has a brand new DPF fitted! Seat Dealer and VAG specialist are both stumped...

Original DPF had become too clogged so it was change or delete time. Went with change as I'd like to sell the car soon. It's had a new DPF (pattern part) and new pressure and exhaust sensor (post DPF one). No coil light or MIL light now but DPF light will not go out. Both garages have reported that the soot level will drop to 20% on regen cycle but quickly gets back up to 50%.

Anyone any ideas?

Did you ever get this sorted?

I'm having the same issue. Dpf gutted & egr blanked, but the light keeps coming on randomly.
