Hello all. I have finally bought one. A 2007 s3 with sat nav, mfsw, coming home lights,Bose, auto wipers, auto headlights etc. I've already fitted full mIlltek exhaust and rs4 front brakes. Which are amazing. Also forge dv and now looking at stage 2+ remap from awsome gti and hop. I want to change steering wheel to flat bottom. I need as much advice or someone to fit it for me. Please help

I will bang some pics on when i have paint work detailed. She has a few blemishes. I'm a detailing freak. Hello to you all. Any info on fbsw fitting. I already have mfsw. As there are a few on fleabay.

if you already have MFSW then FBMFSW is straight swap no coding or anything.

Speak to Nigel (username NHN), he'll sort you with a wheel and can probably get it fitted for you too. He's the retro-fit master.

Yes it's a right laugh when you hit the loud pedal. But need more. She's running 310bhp on hitec rollers. Dropped wheels off at wheel specialised in brum for full refurb in smoked silver....:icon_thumright: What's the chances of finding oem bucket seats....... What mods do you guys recommend.

Buckets are like buses - getting overly expensive. They're pretty rare, but sets do come up. If you're going 2+, look for a clutch too. MY11 rear lights is always a good bet, and again speak to Nige for them too.

Great choice, great car!

I'm sat here now thinking about how I really should have grown out of just going out for a 1 hour drive randomly at the age of 30!!

Oh well, just got back from a drive now lol :)

Cant fault that buddy. I do the same when I need to clean the pipes out on the S3. 100 yds to the A701 and then Im outta here.

It doesn't get better I promise you!

Even at my age a random blast is still fun.

Well guys it's booked in to awsome gti for stage 2+ on Thursday ... Can't wait also fitted twin forge intake. Nice bit of kit. Sounds fantastic. Can't help going out in her for a sneaky blast around.

Well I'm ready to start next round of mods. Bucket seats flat bottom wheel my11 rear lights rns led. Anyone got these items for sale.or advice on engine rebuild company as want to go hybrid turbo and new rods pistons etc. I want to hit 450 bhp safely

Right now,I'd advise looking at both the Loba hybrid, and also the Revo GTX3071 kit.The latter requires more fitting obviously, but both would require rods and pistons to go beyond 440bhp/440lbs,although will be safe below that...
There are a number of companies providing pistons and rods(mine are PEC rods and Wossner pistons),but a lot are from a common source and finished by the individual companies.
AMDTuning built my engine, and I would recommend them if you are close enough, but there are others in various parts of the country,as long as you make sure they have done a build before.

Forgot to say...you will need...
Uprated suspension and brakes.
RS4 injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
Auxiliary fuel pump if you go beyond 440bhp(this is the limit of the stock system)
Big intercooler.
Boost controller if you go beyond 440bhp or 1.7bar.
BT kit, plus pistons, rods, bearings and various other bits.
As a rough estimate you're looking at a minimum of £4ks worth of parts,(excluding the brakes and suspension)and then factor in labour.
Take a look at my build thread for a look at what's required.

1 month at Stage 2+ and you're already looking at going big turbo? Nice.

Got to do it properly,to do it once....if you see what I mean, and be prepared for some big bills.....I forgot a few of the other bits and bobs, but I think the total inc labour would not see much change out of £6k+,and add more if you go beyond 450bhp.

Sounds about where I thought it would be costs wise. Just don't tell my wife lol.

You might want to try my "defence",and divide the cost of the bits by 10....usually works as my wife doesn't like cars.
Seriously though,if there is anything I can help with,or any suppliers etc, please let me know.

Well I got to say I'm a very happy bunny this evening...my wife who thinks a car is just a car treated me to a little prezzie when I got home tonight...now steady on not that:hubbahubba:but a brand new set of my11 rear lights for me s3. Thanks babe. But I think this Xmas is going to cost me dearly.......:scared2:

lol she got you there. you're going to pay it twice :D

Just a quick question s3alex. I've been looking for clutch kits and have seen one on fr tuning smf kit for 800 quid what do you think.

If it's the Loba kit, then it's a good one,but you have to look at how much torque you're eventually going to run,and if it exceeds the torque limit of that clutch ,then you need something beefier, like the Spec clutch that I use.....600Nm is 440lbs,and my car comfortably exceeds that.

Yes mate it's loba smf kit capable of 600 nm For 886 for full kit.

Ok then....you just need to decide how far you're going with the engine,as the Loba is rated to 440lbs,but would be expected to cope with a bit more if you look after it,whereas the Spec is a beast, and is basically a race clutch which can be used in road cars....it's rated to nearly 600LBS as opposed to Nm.

Who can I get spec clutch from around Birmingham area. Sorry about all questions
