2006 A3 Suspension

Does anybody know if the suspension changes coming in effect with the 2006 revisions, such as the front grille, are the result of the suspension test's carried out near Silverstone mid-year by Audi - due to their suspension bods finally realising that audi's just weren't as good on UK roads as their competitors in terms of handling and ride quality or are these changes a stop gap until this work can filter down in consumer models?
