also, u don't need the cradle to connect via bluetooth. If you're having trouble finding it, make sure you search for it when you first start the car after its been parked for a while. I.e. search for it as soon as you start the car in the morning.
No you can't play music through it, it is purely a phone handsfree kit. All the cradle does is charge your phone, so strictly speaking you don't need it but is does 'neaten' the cab up if you have it (no cigar lighter charger leads snaking about).
It also couples the antenna from your phone, to the phone on the roof of the car, giving slightly better phone reception.
have a look at the brodit proclip and iphone 4 active holder.
+Will charge your phone and sits up on dash so you can use satnav. Also fits iphone 5 but plug will need changing

Ive just bought the brodit for iphone 4. Will post pics when it arrives (hopefully tommoz). Need one for the samsung s3.
