Getting someone to paint my calipers

yeah, yeah, I know it's meant to be easy, etc, etc... yes I'm a lazy git.

but...

anywhere in south london where I someone will do it while I wait without costing a forune? there MUST be some others that don't even own a wrench to take the wheels off! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

ring around some porsche specialists? all the 911 calipers are repainted and decals reapplied on a regular basis (tend not to be cheap though but will last a few years)

Black calipers with the Audi rings on... now there's a thought.

Would you need heat resistant paint or just normal met black spray?

But it's so easy......... seriously if you can take a wheel off, and hold a brush .
I did mine black with the Audi rings from the TT shop. Looks superb.

Get your brother to do it,pay him 30 quid.

I thought I'd have to take the calipers off to do it properly... I'm good with a brush, so if I don't have to, then I might have a go.

The car's an S-Line in Lava Grey (which is very dark) so I was thinking either black (silver rings) or yellow (black rings).

I've painted the calipers on many cars and not one had any problems, even when I used smoothrite.
No need to remove the calipers, just get a selection of brushes and the jobs easy.
But do note that if you buy the proper caliper paint it is a two pack paint and there is only a few hours to let you do the job before it hardens off. (Also in the kits is some spray solvent cleaner). So once you start you have to finish, so its worth setting your stall out with everything you need. Jack axle stands brushes paint etc etc. It isnt really any great problem.
