hey,

been waiting to get my car re-sprayed for 2 weeks now, thay keep palming me off saying that they need the temperature to be around 22 degrees before they can spray the car.

Any truth in it or are they talking crap.

Cheers

I would have thought that there body shop was temperature controlled but yes the temp does effect the colour of the paint. Especially if it is metallice

They're not seriously trying to say that they only do spray work when the temperature is 22c are they? Does that mean that they only do spray work 3 days a year?

What cr*p, they must be temperature controlled or they'd never get any work done. We do live in England after all, the weather is hardly ever 22c!!!!!

that must mean that the body repair/respray industry must shut down nationwide when the temps not right, what do they do in the winter?.

What a loads of cr@p!

I have been in bodywork/respraying business for 20 years, I know it is vital to have right temp when spraying cars with great finishm but I have done with or without spray booth, I still managed well with repsraying cars with right temp on heater switch on if cold weather.

At the moment, I am building my own spray-booth at my rent workshop near my home, so I can carry on with my hobby with restoration on my classsic Ford Escort MK1 and modify my Audi A4....

I thought to get metallic paint to match it needed to be sprayed at a certain temp or the colours different? Been told that from quite a few body shops...

i'm gonna call audi customer services to find out what they recon, see if they come up with the same answers as the body shop

cheers

And to add insult to injury, there giving me a fec*in polo as a courtesy car when it eventually goes in.

If you don`t have full confidence in that bodyshop why go there? choose another.

Go to another Audi approved bodyshop, where are you based?

I know a brilliant Audi one in Epping, Essex called Shiltons.
(north east London)
They also do Mercedes, Porsche and even the odd Lamborghini.
They are the approved bodyshop of Lee Valley Audi.
