I've just had the letter from Audi about the injector recall. I've read too many horror stories on here so I'm binning the letter. All I can read between the lines is "please bring your car in so we can screw it up good and proper and charge you handsomely to rectify it afterwards"

The way I see it is the car has now done 90k so if this alleged problem was going to manifest, it would have done it already. It's an 08 plate s line 170 TDi so the mpg isn't great (35 round town, 50 on a run) but runs perfect and I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'll let you know if it bursts into flames after writing this post....

Guys...had my injector recall mod done a while back now and its done nothing but run fine ever since....if not better than before it went in. Ceratinly sems to be quicker than before.

Maybe the placebo affect but Audi Swindon were very good, didn't cost me a penny and as I was working nearby that day, so no hassle. Couldn't fault the service at all.

Touch wood but I have never has issues from any recall work done on any of my cars present or past, so credit where its due to the manufacturers for raising the recall in the first place.

It could go either way though.

Id rather have a properly working soot chucker than one that chitty chitty bang bangs up the road.

As said, if it isn't broken don't fix it.

Fair enough if a problem develops, have him 'fixed'

:)

Had my lettr throught this morning too, 12 months after Ive had them replaced lol

Done 22,000 miles since they were fitted and havent had a days trouble........feel really sorry for those that have had so many issues :(

Ive had a hell lot of problems after the recall and i wish i was in your place right now. Your cars running fine so forget the recall.

I had my car looked at today for fears of dpf issues even without the recall work. Turns out mine's had a dpf delete by previous owner, AND a quite substantial remap. It's running a smidge over 200hp. I thought it was a heck of a lot quicker than my old 140.

Can someone post whats written on the recall regards to what make injectors they will be putting in. As my car still contains siemen injectors which the specialist says were meant to be changed with bosch injectors

The letter won't have that detail I wouldn't of thought. More like, your car needs new injectors due to a recall, please book it in at your nearest centre!

Can't you get your money refunded? A lot have...

I need some advise. I have just bought a A3 170 year 2007. Now been informed that it requires new injectors. Car has only done 40000 and drives excellent. I went to the Preston Audi garage and they want me to sign a disclaimer if things go tits up after they have completed the replacement. That has not filled me with confidence. Do i have it done or not? Help!

Don't sign. Then get it done. Audi should be that confident. If not, don't bother, too many horror stories. If car is ok, then apply this theory - if it ain't broke, don't fix it

I deal with preston audi alot, what exactly does the letter say? You should be covered by parts and labour warranty on the work they are doing!!!

You'll get a 2yr parts & labour warranty with whatever they do, if they deny this point them to AUDI UK & they'll confirm this.

Noooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaaay, lol, how crap is that?!

I was only thinking of this yesterday, from all the post ive read id say hang onto the letter, and IF they ever become an issue, then use it.

Leave them sleeping dogs exactly where they are...

All I had the injectors done at Preston Audi. All good. What changed my mind is my mates A3 cut out in the fast lane. Injector failure. Can we take the gamble? I say no get them done. Also I put a Wynns dpf cleaner in the fuel tank. Try it and see. All good.
