I've not heard it mentioned by anyone.

Don't own a diesel myself, but bro in law does, and dealer has told him that due to short journeys they do only way to stop DPF issues is by running the car at high revs once in a while (it's an A3 170TDi). Unbelievable really that you can't just drive your car and it takes care of itself between services! Not aware he's been told to try any additives.

Its not required... The car cleans and regenerates the DPF itself and if the light does come up on the dash then a brisk 30 mins dual carriageway drive will sort it.

Hi, I had problems with the DPF and used this: Halfords | Wynn's Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner 325ml
It made a difference. You can't go wrong for £10

I still have a problem, hope that someone can help me here:

A few months ago I started getting the MIL light on the screen and in the middle screen error saying "Particle filter problem".
I have ignored it for a while and took it on the motorway. Error displaying randomly.
What I have noticed is that when I was getting the Particle filter message in the middle screen The engine was getting hot and the Radiator fan was blowing v hard. Also losing power / coil light on
Ignored it got and the coil light disappeared.
After 2 months of driving with MIL on I used the VAG tool and read these codes:
5253 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor: Elect. Malfunction
P2452 00 [175] - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation
Freeze Frame
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 2
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 00:00:00

5262 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor: Short to GND
P2454 00 [032] - Defective
Freeze Frame
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 1
Mileage: 111264 km
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 00:00:00
Cleared codes but came back immediately.
I have checked the fuses in the boot (right side) using a multimeter (without taking the fuses out) and found one fuse blown. 15A - blue in the Orange/Red fuse carrier. (According to the manual it's "Socket, centre console, rear").
Replaced the fuse, now getting ONE error:

After clearing the error it comes back immediately. MIL showing up after a few miles.

And tried to “Check Measuring Values” but cannot do Meas. Block – 08 as it’s greyed out. Used Advanced Measuring Values and have the following results while in idle:
Particle filter, difference pressure Loc.152 0 hPa – is this normal or the sensor is faulty?
Particle filter, oil ash volume Loc.164 0.08l
Particle filter, offset for differential press. Loc.165 47 hPa
Particle filter, time since last regeneration Loc.168 15201 s
Particle filter, field regeneration lock status Loc.153 00000000
Particle filter, field regeneration lock status Loc.161 0
Particle filter, kilometres since last regeneration Loc.162 118941 m
Particle filter, fuel consumption since last regeneration Loc.163 9.59l

Reading other people’s posts I should try:
1. Replace the differential pressure transmitter:
0281002760
35/08 1 E F 4 816
07Z 906 051 B

Any ideas where I can get it from?

2. Or do a regeneration, if so should I follow instructions from here: Diesel Particle Filter Emergency Regeneration - Ross-Tech Wiki
If so which one? Idle or run?
Can someone please advise if this is correct? Or do you have any idea what I should be doing?

I have an A4 B8 2.0l TDI 6-speed manual 58 plate SE - AMI – Chassis 8K, Engine (J623-CAGA)
