    Bluetooth, removal and transfer?

I am the owner of a 8P A3 with factory specified bluetooth kit through the standard Audi radio/cd and stearing wheel controls.
The car has done a load of miles and I'm looking to swap it for a newer/fewer miles version of the same.
I've found one that looks spot on but has no blue tooth but has the same radio/cd and steering controls.
If I go ahead with this is it possible to remove the necessary parts from vehicle 1 and transplant to vehicle 2
If so, can anyone provide advice as to what needs to be done?
Also, I'm assuming both cars will need VAG-COM updates to recognise the new configurations?
    Any and all help please.

im not sure if this is possible, sure someone will be come along soon and know more. but thought id mention a bluetooth unit made my fiscon which works with with radio, sterring wheel controls just like the oem kit. just connects inbetween the quad lock and the radio and just wire the mic up to the interia light. really good kit.

It is possible and you will need access to VCDS to code.

Would you be doing it yourself or pay somebody to do it?

Your first car would be a more ideal and easier car to sell with BT in my opinion.

You could remove the three parts of the bluetooth, ecu, antenna and mic and buy a wiring loom as that would be impossible to strip from the car. Yes it would need coding when fitted to the new car.

Steer clear of FISCON, nothing but trouble with that german crap which is basically a parrot kit wrapped in an app layer to make it look like an audi kit, but it has no voice control.

    Sorry but I don't agree.

We have fitted hundreds of these units for dealers and private customers over the last few years and they have been over the moon. There have been one or two issues but that's expected with high volume.

The factory system is pretty good but costs quite a bit. The Fiscon is a cheaper alternative for those who want the factory look and feel. Ok it has no voice control but that's about it.

    Just my two cents...

As cruser said Rob, just sell your car with the Bluetooth as it will be more appealing to a potential buyer and you'll probs get a tad more anyhow.
Then just buy a genuine but used Bluetooth kit of eBay and install that or pay someone to do it. You can pick up used kits for around the £150-£200 mark.

Saves the hassle if striping out then re fitting.
And yes it will need coding mate.

    Simples :-)

Danny i suggested the Fiscon unit im not wanting to remove my bluetooth lol.

but when i try and use my voice control its gash. doesnt seem to pick up any names i tell it. but voice control doesnt interest me anyway. we've just started fitting fiscon units at work and i think personally the menu options in the dis are better than the oem audi kit. instead of just being able to select your contacts, with the fiscon unit you can select phonebook, last received calls, missed call, recently dialed.

Yes, the plan is to do it myself, I am OK with pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
I get the points about the resale etc, but if I was stubborn enough to want to go ahead anyway, can someone offer some detailed help for the remove and refit (not fitting an alternative).
Where are the factory fitted bits located for example?

You can check out the different options available on my site Advanced In-Car. Just click my signature and go to Factory fitted kit.

Lots of info on both the Fiscon and Original Bluetooth.

Well as an approved installer myself with nearly 10 years specialising in Audi only, I can assure FISCON are inferior in lots of ways, but if you speak with FISCON (see Kufatec) they will not admit to any issues.

Let's say that every single MMI 2G pro kit had to be replaced after installation because of the software issues, as an installer that makes them expensive to the installer, repeat calls for badly designed products when you approach Kufatec they don't want to know. They may be OK now, but that is several years down the line. Cold issues are another problem, I have had several units fail in cold weather taking down the MMI system, remove the FISCON and the MMI is fine.

The standard Audi FISCON kit for RNS-E, well I would only install one as a last resort, to be honest pay a little more and get something that works all day every day. Again just sent a batch back to Kufatec for updates as they wont work with modern phones.

Speak to Kufatec about issues with SDS on the new RNS-E and the FISCON basic plus, er thats untested sir. But according to their website it should work. A complete nonsense that you just dont get with an Audi phone kit.

All that FISCON has done is allow installers with very little knowledge to convince people they are getting an Audi phone kit when they are getting a poor substitute.

Im not saying that Fiscon is better than the original system, not at all. My point is that for those who don't have the wallets to pay for the genuine thing then the Fiscon system is the next best thing. But we always recommend genuine over Fiscon.

I agree whole heatedly about the lack of SDS functionality on the Fiscons but then we don't sell them for that functionality and the customer is made fully aware of this.

In regards to other installers then that is down to them not communicating with the customer and trying to go for the quick buck. We don't work like this and I'm sure you like others who have been in the game a while don't either.

I specialise in marketing and am not a fully fledged engineer and don't claim to be one. I say it how I see it, based on past sales, customer reviews and feedback.

My Fiscom retro fitted unit works 100% every time, but I do miss voice tag dial..
It was dead easy to fit to.
