My 59plate 1.8tfsi is making a really high pitched 'whistle'
Its like a spooling whistle, which gets faster under acceleration
Havn never had a turbo'd motor before i have no clue if this is normal behaviour or not
more noticable when in lower gears, cant really make it out when doing over 70(on the motorway or private runway officer) ;)
Anyone?
 
Yeah, you can usually hear the turbo whistle/whine more easily when there's less engine/wind/tyre noise (ie in lower gears, at slower speeds). If it's intrusive then there might be an issue, but a faint whistle is normal.
 
its going in for its 1st mot in sept so if i still think theres a prob i'll ask em to check it out under the warranty etc
 
well, ive found the reason for the whistle
Turns out its coming from my speakers via the stereo
I have the pioneer app radio2 installed
Soon as i disconnect the dock cable from the phone the whistle dissapears
Anyone know how i can isolate this from happening?
