2.0 TDI 140 Sportback Black Edition MPG Thread

Hi All,

I am a company car driver of the above car and interested of what MPG/range you get from tanks! I live in Ripon and usual commute to work in 31 miles each way to Leeds plus any other journeys I do as I can potentially travel all over the UK on a weekly basis.

I collected the car on 2nd April and covered 7,300 miles since then.

I have averaged 48mpg over that mileage, with cost per mile 13p and highest tank mileage is bang on 700!

What are yours?

My old 06 plate 2.0 TDI 140 was Stage 1 mapped and I couldnt believe the economy I used to get out of it. I use to drive home from Lossiemouth to Edinburgh every Friday using the A9 which can be a fast road.....201 miles in total. Sitting at 65-70mph I used to get to about the 150 mile marker and it was just dropping off full. DIS reading average was approx 56MPG

Had mine 2 days and only done 150 miles or so. Averaging between 48 to 50 with round town driving

I've tracked 11,669 miles in mine since December 2011 using fuelly.com and it's averaging 47.5 (actual) and 51.5 (DIS) since new.

I usually use supermarket fuel, but have noticed over the last couple of tanks (shell ordinary) that I seem to be getting better MPG out of the shell fuel. Could just be coincidence?? or maybe car is loosening up now and just getting better?? or maybe the shell is simply better??

Just did Manchester Airport and back today (320 miles) and DIS shows 56.6 mpg at a fairly constant 75-80 all the way.

According to Fuelly, my fuel cost is 13.5p per mile

I usually use the supermarket stuff too as I work near a couple of them so just fill up there! Currently on 7,500 miles now so loosening up nicely!

My average over 6027 miles is 46.31mpg ave cost 13.9p per mile.
Best over a tank has been 51.63mpg 12.7p per mile.

DIS deffo over estimates.

Hi, 2008 2.0 tdi 140 sport back.
i only use it for about 12 miles per day five days a week, got an average of 49mpg on my number 2 on dis!
really chuffed tbf.

Had 620 out a tank on a run to the south west n back

Just to give you diesel boys a comparable i average 25.5 out of my a3 sportback 2.0tfsi Quattro ouch!! And that's since December lol

My is old model 2004 and I normally get 520-550 miles out of a full tank. Average MPG is 49-50MPG. 50% motorway and 50% in town.

Worst tank 550, best tank 830, 2011 plate 140bhp. DIS readings.

Brim to Brim best of 67mpg, usually around 60-63 summer, 55 winter time....

2012 SB S-Line 2.0Tdi 140 I've got 43.9mpg on the DIS average (2) covered just under 4k since middle of April.

If I go on a motorway journey I get 50mpg+ on DIS(1).

Iv just got myself a 2007 2.0 tdi sportback. Got to admit I thought fuel consumption would be better. So far averaging low 40s to the tank according to dis, mostly motorway. Maybe I need to change my driving style.

61 plate 2.0 TDI 140 Hatchback Black Edition

I've done 26k miles since 1st November 2011 and have averaged 48mpg on dis2. The best I've gotten has been long runs south from Newcastle/Leeds down the A1/M1 where i've averaged 58 - 61MPG and around 600 miles from the full tank.
