OK, ever since I lowered my car on H&R springs I've been happy with the ride height, but not the ride itself. The dampers are poorly matched to the shorter springs, so the car bounces around a lot over even slightly uneven roads (or "everywhere", as the case is in Aberdeen). I think rather than forking out maybe £500-700 for uprated dampers, and then probably having to buy new lowering springs (if only for peace of mind), I may as well go for coilovers.
Thing is, spending that sort of money on 'budget' coilovers doesn't really make sense. I want the car to handle well, ride (relatively) smoothly, and sit at more or less the height it is at now. I don't want to worry about coating, greasing and maintaining the coilovers, so the likes of V-Maxx etc are out. Proper budget ones aren't going to be worth the money, so JOMs etc are out too, and I want performance matching handling, so I may as well go for "the best".
Bottom line, I want KW V3s, but what about B16-PSS10s? When the S3 first came out they were THE coilovers to have. Are they past it now, and V3s have taken the crown, or is there a 3rd option I don't know about? Budget would be ~£1500 (including fitting) so they both fit the bill.
Let me know what you guys think.
