OSIR Footrest from TT shop

Hi all I recently purchased this stainless steel footrest cover for my A3 and it doesnt seem to fit, it is the correct profile on the side but the face is too wide for the existing footrest and the upper right fixing hole has nothing behind it for the screw to go into, have any of you fitted this to your car and if so how did you get around this. It states on the TT Shop site it fits both the mk2 tt and A3.

I think Ive discovered the problem it must be for the S-tronic models only as they must have a wider footrest, im sure someone will confirm this.
