Best location for OEM bluetooth module?

I had one of these in my a3 but i sent it back due to not working correctly.

I used the guide Guide to retrofit OEM Bluetooth with RNS-E and placed the module where it was shown in the pdf.

I tried to place it low as possible in the compartment but i couldnt get the radio (concert II+) back tight into the space it came from and didnt sit flush with the dash

Second time round I want to get it seated correctly - i read online on a b6/7 a4, there is enough room above the glovebox but i already tried when installing first time.

Is there a method to get it sitting low enough down in behind the radio - or is the concert simply too deep?

I dont want to install it under the seat, so is there any other suitable locations for it?

Yeah I think thats where it goes but it involves taking the seat and a large number of bits of trim out

    It's personal preference really...

    - The real OEM Audi way is under the seat.

    - Sometimes you can squeeze it behind he headunit but it puts unnecessary pressure on things.

    - Another place. Remove the lower dash under the steering wheel and you can hide and cable tie it away under there.

That sounds like a better location, is it hard to do?

I take it its the trim around the dead pedal .. that sorta area?

Nope. But I guess you could try there.

Its the panel directly below the steering wheel. Couple of 8mm bolts on the bottom, one on the side Near the fuse board and then clips along the top near the steering wheel.

Ah yes I know what you mean now. Jasonc actually sent me something showing removing the aircon unit then placing it right at the bottom.

I will try that during the week. Thanks for your help
