Just been driving my car and it started pluming out white smoke, apparently my partner had the oil light on last week and she filled it up with three litres of oil, have just checked the oil and there's way too much in there so i'm guessing this is the cause? I've just plugged it into VCDS and i've got one Engine Malfunction code 004234:

The Rosstek wiki however suggests its something to do with the fuel pump 17501/P1093/004243 - Ross-Tech Wiki, I've got an uprated fuel pump so this had me a little scared… checked the cam follower 3k miles ago and was fine, do you think it could just be due to there being too much oil in the system and it just needs to be drained out?

Id start from the known issue of excessive oil fill and go from there. Clear fault and check running.

To add to that, Lesson learnt; don't let ****** women drive your pride n joy! 95% of them don't have a clue, Be smart get her a little polo :)

haha, plus side was that she put the correct oil in it… going to take it into a garage tomorrow, fingers crossed there's no damage done!

Lol so you've been driving for a week with a car with oil overload? Lol Both of you are in the blame in my eyes, Ideally you shouldn't let the warning light come on in the first place.

Thanks… really insightful comment there Audi…A3, really helped me get to the bottom of the issue
