I like these wheels but do not know if they will fit -

I have a Audi A3 Sportback 2.0TFSi with 17" 225 45 7.5J, these TT wheels are 17" as well but are 225 50 8J.
The 5 stud pattern is fine but not sure about eberything else such as ET, different J and the extra radius of the 50 v 45's.

Any help much appreciated.

J is the width in inches so wheels are 7.5" wide and 8". Tyres are width in mm then % of width as side wall then R (diameter, confusingly) of inner edge. 225/45 R17 are 225mm wide, 101.25mm thick (sidewall height is 45% of 225mm) and inner edge to fit a 17" wheel.

The TT wheel has an extra 5% of its width in sidewall, so the tyre is 112.5mm tall/thick. It'll make a slight difference to your speedo readings - you'll actually be going ~3% faster than your speedo says you are.

To know if they fit, you'll need the ET - you're looking for around ET42 for 8J wheels. Don't think you'll have any rubbing issues with a 17" though.

Just checked and apparently ET47, looks like were all good just have to be more careful through speed cameras!

ET47 should sit quite nicely, and the difference in speed is like 3mph at 70, so not really much to worry about. You probably get more change for tyres being partially inflated.
