with all those mods its pulling 360bhp BUT it feels like it’s not :s
a friend of mine has stock 58 plate s3 and raced from 3rd gear and he kept up with me all the way on a few occasions started to even edge forward... his is a facelift model and about 30k on the clock and a manual, I think his a member on these forums too.. ( yooo! lol )

so maybe a bad map? any advice?

also, at low revs when the car drives in 2nd gear without gas/clutch, the car makes like this knocking noise from the engine as if something is loose, is this normal? a few people as well as stealers believe it is, can someone confirm?

lastly, breaks squeaking... I had these checked and pads have a lot of life left... but when just pressing the peddle firmly the brakes squeak.. what could this be??

your thoughts much appreciated

Hi z1mma lovely spec car as i,ve seen and been in it, map was fine pulling right through the gears , best to scan car using vagcom , or if your near sheffield get it down to statllers get it check out , they also have a rr and if there is a problem with map it will be covered under some sort of warrenty ..

I suspect the Revo map could have been set back to standard or turned down. Find someone with an sps and get it turned back up. No way could a standard car keep with a stage 2+.

z1mma i have a sps switch as i remember the car could be set up to default settings from the tuners ..

Brakes squeaking isn't wear, it just needs a dab of grease behind the pad (inside edge to the caliper).

Hi there make sure your running 97 ron or higher as i only use vpower petrol , maybe try some injector cleaner , and also best to get the car checked out by someone like statllers an audi specialist ..

Well I guess 80bhp isn't really that much more, It can easily be canceled out by Bad shifting, weight difference or turbo on it's last knees.

I always used 97 ron and its been fine and its had injector cleaner fluid when the map was done. apart from that as you felt on the test drive it pulled well. As for the knocking noise you mention i dont know unless its just the clutch grabbing as you have no throttle on.

had to use normal petrol due to accident on motorway and fuel gage showing 10 miles in stop/start traffic lol... so maybe due to this then? but it makes that much of a diffrence?? the guy i raced was using normal petrol too.. i need to find a rolling road in birmingham and take it from there

the knocking its not like as if its about to cut out or anything, more like a thuding lol, and only happens further slowing down during snail pase..

apart from beeing a lil paraniod, im in love again :D the car is a beast, and very very happy with the investment!! :D

Using 95RON would show less power on a standard S3, the effect will be multiplied significantly on a modified car. Get some V-Power in there and see if your friend can keep up.

Thats what i thought you have put in normal petrol this with pull the timming back , like martin said get some vpower straight away ,and get a sps switch as well ...stunning car, welldone ...:)

I'd of removed the spliter, makes the car look a bit odd with lowered suspension. Fuel is crucial when it comes to tune a car:

Facts about high octane petrol - YouTube

However 80bhp difference can be due to engine device fault, split intake pipe, overboosting turbo, exhaust sensor failure etc. so best is to get it checked via VCDS and put on a RR.

On top of that if it was me I would rather bought it standard and do all the bits myslef with garage that I trust and could do all the checks before and after just for peace of mind and tuning fun factor:].

tuning fun factor will come into play when i get bored with stage 2+ and move on to 3 :blackrs4::scared2:

did you maybe disconnect the battery? or maybe car went into a limp mode?
you should plug in vcds and see the boost values.
does it use more fuel than usual and do you get burbles noises from the exhaust when you leave the throttle in 2nd gear?
if so i got the last issue too, car is going on monday to a garage to see what's wrong.
and once i felt lack of power then i used vcds and saw that boost is 1.2 bar which is i think stock did a throttle body adjustment and it vent back to full boost.
