Hi there guys, I'm going to look at the following vehicle:

AUDI A3 2007 AUTO DSG TDI SPORTBACK DIESEL R E D U C E D in London | Used Audi for sale | Gumtree.com

I have a few questions for the audi people out there, as I have no knowledge when it comes to anything Audi or remotely German.

The seller has stated that it has only had audi 'specialist' garages and no main dealer service history. I got the number of these 'specialist' garages from him, from 3, only 1 of which was a specialist called 'camspec' (CAMSPEC - Audi, Volkswagen, Seat & Skoda Specialists - CAMSPEC - Audi, Volkswagen, Seat & Skoda Specialists). They informed me in Feb 2012 there was an issue with the gearbox and the 'clutch pack' was replaced. Is this something I should be concerned about? This was done at 82096 miles. The car is now on 82700.

I have a long list of the common problems and tell tale signs to look out for e.g. the letter on the head to check for the pourous cylinder head cracking issue. Jerking and jumpy auto gear changes for any DSG issues, lack of power/intermitten power for any signs of turbo damage, funny idle for dodgy injectors and all the other usual checks...

Have I missed anything out or am I looking at total dog of a car?

I am planning to take the car to take the car to an audi dealership garage during the test drive to get the vehicle inspected. Do you think Audi will charge for this service? I dont need a thorough inspection, just a visual check over in case I missed anything.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post.

Well from the word go he/she has lied about the sspecialist garages? so what else has been lied about?

clutch pack is a good thing, least you know that's been replaced.
