You'll prob find your SC3's have MO stamped on the side which stand for something like Mercedes Original, different opinions exist as to whether Mercedes ask for a difference in compound from conti but I only bought MO tyres to match the other ones otherwise I would of bought something else

you don't have to stay with 92y is the answer

Your after the 92Y mate. Your tyres are probably 225/40 R18 92Y If standard wheels. Go for the Michelin PS3's if i were you. Cracking tyre

Its posible your wheels might be a different size perhaps 17" so double check

Yeah your right mjr901 tyres are 225/40/18/92y standard sline tyres.
My prob was when i went to camskill it was coming up with again least two lots of Goodyear eagles.
One was 225/40/18/88y and the other was 225/40/18/92y but was saying Mercedes for one and porsche for the other.
Wasn't sure if the merc /porsche ones would be ok. Far as i could tell they seemed to be reinforced or along those lines.

as long as the size is the same it shouldn't matter. some might say 225/40 R18 92Y "XL" they have a higher load rating and generally have a bigger outer edge which protects the edge of your rims. (the ones to go for in my opinion) also looks better.

    Hi everyone,

88y tyres would be too low a load index for your tyres to be correct as specified by the manufacturer, but you don't necessarily have to stick to 92 Y. The list of tyre sizes that would fit are as follows:

    225 40 R18 92 Y
    225 45 R17 94 Y
    205 55 R16 91 W

    and in winter sizes:

    205 50 R17 93 H
    205 55 R16 91 H

Here's a link that may be useful: Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 Tdi 170 tyre sizes

    Hope this information helps!

The Y is the important part rather than the number..
