A3 3.2 - Has anybody removed the front silencers?

I picked up a cat-back Milltek, and while fitting was surprised to notice that the car has two additional silencers that are in-line with the cat's - they appear to be a fixed part of the car assembly.

Has anyone ever removed these (by cutting I assume) and had link pipes made up?

I suppose the alternative would be to remove the first Milltek silencer, and replace this with a straight through pipe? Although I notice Milltek don't actually sell a single box solution for the 3.2 - unlike other models in the A3 range.

I am happy with it overall - although it is much quieter than I expected.
