Having had my fuel injectors and loom replaced due to a recall at audi my car is not behaving very well and is lacking power, i dont know if this is due to the injectors or if something else has reared its ugly head,

this is on a 2008 2.0 tdi 170 with 40k

1) sometimes struggles to start if ive not started for a day or two
2) if it struggles it judders for about 30 seconds
3) listening under the bonnet theres a little intermittent tinkling noise
4) sometimes when cold it is hesitant and feels boggy
5) the car seems lacking in power
6) the car seems to be slow in dropping revs
7) when cold if i rev up from 800-1000 rmp and back off it jolts the car
8) when i accelerate from cold (not harsh) it seems to run on once the clutch has been depressed.

Any ideas where to look, ive taken the pipework off today and the turbo feels ok not to much slack spins ok no sign of wear on the intake blades,

any help would be brilliant if not could you reccomend a specialist or would you reccomend i take it back to the audi dealer.

I would take it back and tell them its not running right..

did all this happen after your injectors got replaced mate?
i only ask, as my mate had his passat recalled for the same thing and ran like a bag of hammers after (not sure of exact symptoms!) but took it back in and one of the new replacement injectors they had fitted was dodgey!
repaced it again and is now sweet as a nut!

Yeah its been bad since the injector recall, just wondering if its linked to them other faults ?

with regards the fault if its linked to the fuelling issue and other faults are linked to this am I expecting a big bill to fix the other parts?

nar mate you will be fine!
just express the fact that YOUR car was fine till THEY laid there hands on it!
as said the chances are it might be an iffy new injector! thats what happened to my mate rich and his passat!
just dont mention you have been tinkering or they will just try and swerve the issue! based on that! lol

Don't touch it - just take it back !!

I agree. If it walks like a duck..............

Car OK before loom and injector recall. Runs badly after. Must be something they did.

I had mine done and it was better than before it went in.

thats true about the injection issue im just wondering about the others too, has anyone got any tips etc,

drove it tonight, turbo dont sound right to me, and theres a rumbling and i cant work out where it is, i dont know if im being paranoid,

:(

Seems to be a common issues atm with these injector recalls.

Im not sure if im being paranoid now nigel as i keep listening out for noises etc,

If it's running like this after the recall has been carried out I would take it back. Explain your not paying as it's only been like this since the recall. If they don't play ball just ask politely for the customer services number and call them. The VW group UK customer services team are pretty good at getting customers cars fixed specially if something like this has happened since work was carried out.

I work for VW so far had one car that refused to run after due to a new injector being faulty. Also seen cars where the injectors haven't been set up properly which results in poor starting and power delivery.

Defo take it back. I had an issue with them after my recall, turned out to be poor workmanship. By rights they should give you a free coutesy car too if they have made an erse of things...

Take it back Chris, given your background, you know more than most if anything changes huh :)

Just wondering if you've had any further developments with this? I've just had my injectors done today & although the car 'seems' to deliver more power it sounds like a bag of spanners. Think I might have to go back to the dealers :(
