Slight spluter on start in my tdi 2.0 sport 140

I have recently purchased a tdi 54 plate when I test drove it it was fine. Since I have had it no problem. Tonight it has started lagging then starting like a slight spluter then starts. Anyone have any ideas what it could be.

Any help would be appreciated.
