Ive got 19x8 RS6 reps on standard suspension, although i dont get any rubbing, it looks very tight at the back and if i was to lower it, it might rub.

To the guys running 19x8 wheels with 235/35 tyres what mods have you done to stop the rubbing?

235/35 on a 19 inch rim? :no:

should have 225 on those! what ET is the wheel? im guessing its et45 from the picture

More like 235/35 on an 8" rim :no:

225 would definitely be better for clearance, 215/35 if you want a bit of stretch. Mine clear fine ET48, 8.5" wide and 225/35/19 lowered 25mm from S3 standard.

My current setup is 225/35/19 on 8.5J rim
and i had serious rubbing issues on the back and front!
Now i trimed out the inner edge on back arch(easy job) and it's perfect,
but still having problems on front when i drive fast on bumpy roads! Coilies are set to max hard!
Car is lowered like this;

I run 19*8 et 47ish with 215/35/19 with not much rubbing but the arches have been pulled and flared.

I once had some 19x8 ET45 RS4 reps with 235/35/19's and they rubbed with H&R's fitted. I changed them for 19x8 BBS CK's (think they were ET44's) and 225/35/19's again lowered on H&R's and they never rubbed.
Currently running BBS CKII Air's with 215/35/19 and H&R springs and again no rubbing. I'm looking to change them for 225's though as I don't really like the stretch, although that could be more to do with the rim protector being stuck out more with the tyre being pulled back from the rim.

With above, the general consensus is 225's. I have 225s on on an 8.5 19" wheel and no rubbing at all but then again my s3 isn't that low. Have heard trimming the fasteners under the arches is sometimes the culprit so worth a go.

its times like these we need N8 back he was the wheel daddy , anyway 235 will rub like hell at et45 for the ideal fitment get some 215's on there pal then you can drop her on her ****

I think it's the tyre that you will have problems with. I run a 19x8 et 44 with a 215 tyre and mine is lowered 80mm and no rubbing.

All will be revealed one day once complete...... Like that'll ever happen!

i would love to run 225 35 19 but unfortunately its a big no no with insurance over here in Australia. Looking at taking out the screw in the rear arches but do i need to replace with another screw?
