Never mind the RS3.......how about this......Super-Audi is go....

    Super-Audi is go
    (Filed: 07/05/2005)

Audi's new supercar, the Le Mans quattro, has been given the go-ahead for production, the Ingolstadt company confirmed this week.

First shown in concept form at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003, the sports coup, essentially the same shape as the concept, is aimed squarely at Porsche and Ferrari.

The engine is thought to be a development of either the RS4's 414bhp V8 or the Lamborghini Gallardo's V10 (the concept was powered by a 602bhp twin-turbo V10), although VW will be mindful of not treading on the toes of Lamborghini, a stablemate of Audi.

Audi says it does not yet know when production will start, or how much the Le Mans quattro will cost, but an output of 3,000 to 5,000 cars a year has been suggested, and the price will almost certainly be at least 60,000, putting it firmly in the path of the 911.

I'd be stunned if it came in below 80k

The TT stunned everyone when it came along at 25k, although i think you might be right, i'd say the more expensive side of the 60k sounds about right. Although they won't pinch the all important 911 market if they pitch it too high.
