Help, my rear light clusters don't seem to fit very well, there is a big gap between the body work and the actual light cluster so when it rains or i go through the car wash water enters the boot area and the the wiring loom gets wet. Is there supposed to be a seal around the units or are they the wrong lights???????

Is it a Sportback or 3 door? Either way the light should be flush with bodywork. If its a Sportback, check the two locating lugs at the front of the unit are pushed home into the rubber grommets...
If it's a 3 door, it could be that some of the rear bulbs have had to be replaced and whoever has done the job hasn't refitted the lights properly. Best thing would be to remove them - very easy job - and try and fit them perfectly flush, so no more water gets in.

I have recently had a new LED cluster set fitted to my Sportback and have noticed a very small amount of water build up around the bottom of the lights, but as far as I know this isn't going into the boot.

Yes as said, before we can advise, ideally need pics of them fitted & the rear of the lenses so we can ascertain if anythings missed or out of spec.
i will try and put pictures up. I have had the o/s rear light off and it seems to go back on ok but still a quite large gap between body work and light, i have noticed the boot lid isn't quite flush with the lights either, i checked to see if it was an insurance write off, stolen or scrapped but it came back clean, it does look like a repair ov somesort has been done but not very well and the paint job isn't the best either
how do you get pictures up?, i've taken some and sent them to facebook but cant seem to get things to work right, sorry but not a techno geek

When I bought my car a few months ago one of the rear lights had a small gap between the bodywork and housing. I just tightened up the hexagonal screw, behind the light in the boot. This pulled it back into place.
Try that, if not I would try taking it off completey so you can see how it all fits to the car and see if anythig is stuck there or bent. There is not much that can go wrong back there, just 2 points that pop into place and the screw in the back. (Thats what she said).

Not the best pics tbh but alas, need to ee the boot lines from the rear not the side to see the degree of bad fitment & distance pics, not nose to the lense.
TBH it doesnt look as bad as you make it to be.
But, check the rubber grommets on the side of the car, that the rear light ball joints push into, havnt pushed into the cavity of the chassis, common to happen when not being careful or fitting properly.
You can also stick some say fabric cloths strips (coroplast) onto the paintwork, build it up behind the lights so it stops it from rocking/piveting against the car as such & then also pushes it out a bit, at the bottom below the main hole where it bolts on with the plastic nut.
