Two questions really........

What was the date of the UK Sportback facelift? was it mid 2008?

Which of the 1.9TDi's has the low (£30) road tax? What date did it start from? Did it start before the facelift? I'm thinking its only the 1.9 TDi SE?

Ive got a 2008 A3 1.9 TDi and its £60ish for 6 months and £115 for the year, I renewed mine last week. It was made on 16th November 2008 (or registered then?).

There is for sure one 1.9TDi thats just £30 (110-120 Co2) for the year. The current range use a 1.6TDi instead of the 1.9 and the tax there starts at a big fat £0 for the year!

Mine is a 1.6 TDI, £20 a year tax. Id rather pay more tax and have a more powerful engine. I was a student when i bought the car though so it has saved me money with good cruising economy (60.2mpg) -Bristol to London 80mph all the way with a few 50mph zones.

Check here Audi A3 Sportback (04 on) Running Costs - Facts and Figures | Parkers but basically the facelift was 58 plate MY2009 onwards, and the 1.9TDi was band C tax rating however there is also a 1.9TDi with band E rating but this was the pre-facelift 08 model....
