Hi all,
when looking for information about the parcel shelf rattle in the A3 I saw someone had posted about velcro to stop movement against the hatchback.
While investigating this I wiggled the shelf and realised there was a definite squeak / rattle from the rubber arms that hold the shelf in place at the seat end.
Quick application of 20mm wide soft section of velcro inside that 'socket' for the shelf arms and 'hey presto' no more squeak / rattle
Hope it helps someone...I'll update and let you know if it fixes it long term or it was just dumb luck on the test drive!
