I partially opened up the boot on my s3 to get at them, they are a right pain though. Almost as if they are made of butter as well. I replaced them with a new set from ebay which seem harder wearing
haha i had the same problem when removing them they are certainly made out of the softest metal known to man they were binned and replaced with proper screws lol

Just been trying to get them out myself, no luck.
Edit: got them out and changed the bulbs, but the right hand one wont screw all the way back in. Sticking out about 2mm and its so tight and awkward angle that i cant turn it, its just rounding the head. Should be alright though?

If you put some welly into it they will screw all the way in, but it does need some force. However you don't want to round the head as then you will need to drill them out next time. I replaced mine with these:
M3 X 10 STAINLESS BUTTON HEAD ALLEN BOLTS 20 + 10% FREE | eBay
