Thread: Bought a 58 Reg Audi A3 1.9 TDIe without a radio code

Hi all, this is my first post.

Sold my mercedes and bought a 58 Reg facelift model Audi A3 1.9 TDIe from Saintcars. I was not careful to check all the paperwork such as radio code. The car was belonging to Lex Leasing company and has full services done all at Audi centre. The seller said he will check and contact me but a few days passed, not a reply from the seller.

I am wondering if there is not a radio code for Audi A3 2008 later model.

P.S. you are doomed after you fulfill your payment towards your car with a dealer

Contact Audi, give them the VIN number and they should be able to sort you out the code. No idea of cost though, knowing Audi it will be charged for.

I found a small sticker on the second page of the Audio system booklet. It has two lines. The first line consists of numbers and letters. The second line are 4 digits. Is that 4 digits the radio code?

Try it but only try it once as you don't wont to block the radio, if that doesn't work and there aren't any more codes stating it's a code for the radio then Audi is your next port of call.

can you not sing?

You can take the radio out, disconnect the battery or whatever and the car will remember it's own radio. You only really need the code to put it in a different car.

My car didn't come with the code for the RNS-E head unit, so I had to obtain it before selling on to another member on here, when I replaced it for a newer model. I paid £27 (via Paypal) to Hazzy Days and sent them the VIN number of my car and the AUZ number (serial number) of my head unit and within 5 minutes they emailed me the correct code. I've heard that soe Audi dealers don't charge anything for this service, ..however I've yet to find an Audi dealer willing to do anything without being paid for it first, lol. xx

Try the four digit code buddy. My radio code was on a sticker on the rear of the stereo as well
