Thread: beep on startup

every now and again i get a beep when i start the car but i dunno why as i get no lights coming up also my thermostat light was flashing the other day what does that mean? any help would be great thanks

The beep maybe just the ice warning on the dash because temps are below 5

does your outside temp reading flash on start up? temp warning dude.

nothing flashes when it beeps but i do get a flashing thermostate some other times but with no beep

think I get a beep when it's cold and ignition is turned on.

I get this too sometimes if I turn the car on straight away - I usually pause once I put the key in then turn it (old diesel habbits maybe)

I haven't yet made the connection to it being below 5 degrees but I will try remember for the next time!

My 2.0 tdi does this everytime I turn the key straight away as Boydie said, never does it if I wait till the glowplug light goes out. (with key in ignition position then I wait)
