Interior light unit?

Can anybody help me please? I had the interior light unit at the front of the car out the other day and I noticed behind the sloping grill bit there is a rectangle box with a wire coming from it, does anybody know what this is for? There was also a small microphone/speaker looking thing, is that something to do with the Audi phone kit or Bose stereo?

the rectangle box is prob the ambient lighting module i.e. two red led's that shine on the radio and centre console at night and the microphone is prob for bose , has your car got these two things

The box under the grill at the rear of the lights is the movment detector, that has a small mic/speaker looking component (the sensor i guess). The bluetooth mic is under the grill in the middle by the main light switch
