    Anyone fitted aftermarket lights?

Thinking of grabbing a set of these, so that i get DRL's (which i love)

    AUDI A3 S3 8P LED DRL R8 style Black Headlights 03-08 | eBay

    £210, so not too expensive.

I am wondering if they would blow the rear wiper motor like HID's do!?

    Many thanks.

It's not the rear wiper motor that blows - it's the front one !

If rear wiper motor stops working it's likely to be full of water and needs replacing

I don't think they'd cause the wipers to go mad, that's usually caused by the power draw from the ballasts in cheap HID kits. I personally wouldn't change the lights for anything other than OE units.

I'm undecided on those lamps, i think i'd need to see some more photos, day and night ones as they photos above show lots of glare.

Don't the OEM lights run along the top then down the inside? That's more like the A4 lights than run underneath. Not a fan of aftermarket anything really, but go with what you like, don't let the forum decide for you. Can you not just retro-fit the 8P2 drls anyway?
    2008 8P2 S3 - Black with black grill, lots of extra + LED DRLs and plate lights, MY11 rears, Evoms CAI, Milltek TBE, H&R ARBs, H&R 25mm springs, genuine BBS RS861 "Speedlines" 8.5x19 ET48, R8 Brakes (Brembo 4-pots/AP 362mm rotors, custom DaveB carriers) - - - 317bhp, 295lb/ft - might be mapped

Can't be done as it's the 8P3 that had the DRLs, the 8P2 never had them they're also a different shape.

You're correct in saying that the OEM ones run from the top down the inside.

There are two different styles of after market LED DRL headlights. If you just put standard bulbs in them you will be fine, if you put after market HIDs in you run the risk of blowing the wiper motor.

No, I went for OEM bi-xenons (pre LED DRL). Im sure somebody on the forum tried the latter and said you could tell they were cheaper made but worked ok for him.
