Thread: Air Conditioning Service

A couple of months after having my car serviced I have just had a phone call out the blue from Audi saying that it needs to go back in for its 2 year aircon service at £99. WTF!?!

Never had that on previous cars. Apparently, if I get a fault with it andhaven't had the service my warranty on the aircon will be void if it is deemed to be due to me neglecting to have the service.

Opinions please.

What is your local audi dealership? just had mine serviced at camberley audi and it is a lot colder now and smells much cleaner apparently the bacteria builds up in the air con and they flush it out and re gas it, it is recommended to do it every 2 years but mine hasn't had it done for 6 years so needed it!

Camberley. I am sure it would help but there is nothing wrong with it at the moment and there is no mention it in the Service Schedule. I will probably leave it until the next servie in about 10 months time.

Yes, i don't think it will do any harm to leave it 10 months especially if your car is not that old, how have you found camberley audi when you have had services with them and stuff out of curiosity?

Just some more money they can squeeze out, I was offered this at the dealer for £200 until I pointed to the sign advertising it for £98, I'm trying to think of other things they can say need doing...

They love trying to charge you for Audi free MoT's too.

Unless it states it in the book hey haven't got a leg to stand on so do it when you're ready mate.

I always top up my washer bottle to full at service as if it's even slightly empty they whack you for another £4. Every little helps (their profits).

Well, I actually thought their service was pretty good. They didn't automatically flash my ECU with updates that were required. They asked first.

After the free servicing expires I will probably start using an independent as my car is modified by them anyway.

My car is actually in getting a bumper repair job now and the bodyshop are offering FREE aircon inspections.

Mate Camberley is extremely poor either with selling cars and servicing not to mention fatal customer service. Have had may issues with them recently and wont be coming back to them that for sure:]. They are lazy bunch of muppets big time go somewhere else I suggest.
