I saw the making of videos of these a few months back when they were showing it all being planned and done, was a shame really, think they used bout 2-3 GT-R`s to build it. I think it was on AOL

I think they said it was a technical exercise just to showcase Nissan and basically have a laugh.
    2008 8P2 S3 - Black with black grill, lots of extra + LED DRLs and plate lights, MY11 rears, Evoms CAI, Milltek TBE, H&R ARBs, H&R 25mm springs, genuine BBS RS861 "Speedlines" 8.5x19 ET48, R8 Brakes (Brembo 4-pots/AP 362mm rotors, custom DaveB carriers) - - - 317bhp, 295lb/ft - might be mapped

And the Muira, sort of. It cost something like £250k for that Juke though... think you could probably tweak a GT-R to be ridiculous for quite a bit less than that.

As i say, its just a bit of fun :-). Thanks God for the people at Nissan who still have the fun factor in them to go ahead with these one offs !! you can just imagine if we still made cars and tried that here the Green brigade would be up in arms and demanding another drop in speed limits and hugging a tree.

A mate of mine helped build the thing. He's part of the team that's developing it. He was out in Dubai last week for the 24hour race and some promo work on the Juke-R. Here's some piccies I nicked from his FB page...

As much as I respect Nissan hugely for doing this as a technical exercise in what is a difficult economic environment (Nissan's finance team must be locked in a cupboard or on leave), I hate the normal Juke with such a passion that this car only sets the record straight.

I'm at risk at going off on a rant, but these mini MPV's embody pretty much everything I dislike about Britiains 4wd obsession. I put the Juke in the same category of car as the new Mini (!) 4wd thing that's about as big as an A3, and the 'Urban Cruiser' (like FFS who thought that was a good name for a car!). You NEVER see one of these things go offroad (so basically they're a marketing gimmick for people who like to think they're a bit adventurous or rugged), most of the drivers are actually so rugged that if they broke a nail they'd probably call 999 and ask for ambulance assistance, and to complete the package the owners are mostly orange coloured (above the neck) to match the 'look at me' paint colour they choose, wear sunglasses bigger than a welding mask because lets face it they don't want to get snapped by the paps between shopping in Aldi and dropping the kids off at the pool, and probably believe the countryside is a fictional place on TV (Emmerdale) rather than somewhere for outdoor pursuits.

You can always tell a **** car when the advert produced by the marketeers is total work of fiction (e.g. Urbanproof with the bouncing about through sprays of paint in a mocked up cityscape). Proves there is nothing of substance to market it against.

To be Frank, I'd rather be dragged about behind a horse and cart on my ballsack than drive a Juke as a daily, or any of the aforementioned. Hateful pieces of dressing up tinsel in a world full of superficiality and bull****!

But that aside, good find Paddy, and great photos from Dubai Coss. Love the concept even though I hate the car!

the video is on the link i posted :-)

I have to say it needs to be ugly, thats what makes it so good i think. For all the millions spent in styling houses in Italy on Ferrari's Lambo's etc here is an ugly little pig thing that says F%ck off :-) Thats why its so good IMHO. Lets face it, had it been another pininfarina concept we wouldn't see the fun in it at all.

That is so true! The thing about it though, it is just ugly. Not like the Apache Helicopter. Clarkson once described it as "So ugly, it's beautiful". Don't think the Juke-R falls into that category.

Maybe not beautiful, but I like the look of it, looks MEAN. Especially with the enormous arches and matte paint. Shame they're not making it for real, and shame they didn't install the quad exhaust off the GT-R.
