Don't like the look of it.
I won't be. Interior might be a good step, need the exterior to go with it though!

Nice driving lights! Not sure what I think of that. Roll on the saloon version (preferably 2 door)!
Looking forward to seeing an S-Line version. It's hard to like that particular one with it's tiny wheels. Makes the body look too long.
Hopefully there'll be a new RS4 coming out to re-light my love of Audi... that just does nothing for me, and the RS3/5 have been disappointingly received.

that one looks a bit gay but im sure an s-line version with bigger wheels etc will be nice. it looks a bit like a bigger A1 to me
looks like a 8l rear and a mk6 golf front,not a fan
Don't like it. Especially the rear end. According to the article, the bumpers may well be an S-line because of the creases. I was debating whether to wait for the new A3 before I bought one. So glad I didn't!

I dont really like the new A4 either, so I'm not surprised the A3 is a bit hit and miss. I can see an S5 beckoning in the future unless the saloon is mint.
looking like the new bmw 1 series
although somehow i didnt think it was possible but they made that bmw worse

The nav/button layout is nigh on identical to the new A3's layout! Which I have to say, not a fan of either. I prefer the nav where it is in the current car. I like a nice smooth line across the dash, not having a screen pop up ruining the shape. I'm guessing that the screen is always going to be up to show song lists etc? And not just be up when you are using the nav. Meh.

Thanks mate! One of the last of the good breed by the looks of it! lol
Completely agree on the nav though. It reminds me of my mates back in the day when they all modded their corsas and put in new head units. A lot of them were these fold out/pop up ones, and it just reminds me of that! After market. The one in the BM isn't too bad I suppose because there is some sort of shape to it. In the new A3, it's just a square coming out of the dash!

Got to admit, nav aside, the inside has grown on me from the first time I saw it. Just got to wait for the proper car to be shown now without the bits and pieces they put on the test mules.

looks like the 8P will still be a good looking car then if this comes out but i'll reserve judgment till its a actual car we are looking at , the interior i do like similar to most of the other audis now but not a fan of the sat nab screen at all looks a little thin and easy to brake but again until its a actual car then i won't say anything
I think it's going to look pretty good in S3 guise.
Test mules always look crap. Disguised features and small wheels is never going to look good.
Some nice/big wheels and it will look completely different!

In a word... no.
I'll reserve full judgement for when it's properly revealed, but the more I see the outside the less I like it. It's becoming a cross between the 1 series and a bigger A1 - both cars I deliberately skipped over on my route to the A3.
The inside looks great, the outside looks worse so far. Even if it's amazing, I won't be buying one - my car is only just about to be built, and I'm definitely skipping at least one generation.
Audi seem to be going downhill in the looks department, they need to take a leaf out of Mercedes book the new C-Class Coupe is a thing of sheer beauty.

Gents, its called progress. Remember when the first Ford Focus was launched everyone said WTF?! Now everyone accepts that shape to be normal.
Whilst I don't think this new A3 is such a revolutionary step forward in the looks department (more evolutionary) I'm sure once we see a proper showroon version a lot more people will warm to it! And so far for the record I quite like it and the sportier models have the potential to look really good.
One potential area of concern for me is due to the slimmed down headlights there is now a lot of bumper between the light and the fog grills....but hopefully this means the S-line and S3 can have beefy air ducts!
If these artists impressions are anything to go by then the future is promising!

i agree with Warren, a 2 door saloon could look good - like a mini A5. i think they should release the concept saloon A3 they had at the geneva show a while back. that looked amazing.

That Geneva concept looks way better than the Alfa-ish 3-dr... would be pretty sweet if they made a 2-dr like the BMW 1M coupe!

all I want is the 2.5 with a proper ECU flash and a nice exhaust note. It may look ugly at the stealership but I think we all know how to fix that
Oh my god all this planning a development and they have not realised the steering wheel is on the wrong side, not sure about it but then they always show crap models, then when they get released most new cars always grow on you,i thought that with the new bmws then i see them about now and think they look well

I'm up for the new one. I'm a 8p2 S3 owner and have been for the last 4+ years. If it really looks like as shown and has the interior improvements as shown on the Q3 then whats not to like. It may have the new corporate Audi look taking queues from the Q3/A1 et'al and its not exactly evolution but it's based on a brand new platform. I look forward to having a pop in one and may buy one - Just don't know what version may take my cash..!! :-) . At the same note, i'm also interested in how it will be in the Mk 7 Golf for the good wife as the Golf platform in general seems to ride more compliant on our roads than the Audi.
