    Super Scrimpers

I posted yesterday that due to unforeseen circumstances I am credit crunched and therefore totally prattled. This has put a serious dent in my intentions to fix up my motor. Xenon upgrade gone, single grill upgrade gone, white clocks dis gone. Absolute bummer however I did squeeze in some MY08 back lights. Anyone got any cheap upgrades or tips they can recommend??? I'm looking at white bulbs, a spray job on the front bumper with some chrome trim ( although I think I'll spray the chrome grill trims black - seems to make the cheap nose job look a bit better). Can't do nowt about the clocks though. Anyway any cheap mods ideas would be appreciated cause skint or not I can't not mess about with my car. Cheers

    Thats a shame.
I hate it when spending on the car has to take a back seat and you need to sell the bits you're building up for future mods.

I can't speak for cheap things for the 8P but some generic ideas.
PM or point T8ups to this thread, he can help you out with LEDs and lights at a good price. remove them orange bulbs from the dash other lights.
painting, wrapping or plastic dip (I think I got it right this time WooHoo) if done DIY is relatively cheap and keeps the modding craving at bay for a bit. I would opt for none permanent options like wrap and plastic dip over painting, cause if you get bored you can peel off and go for something different.

Hope things sort them self out for you in the near future so the big spending can start again.

    Super Scrimper headlight bulbs

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

I have 2 sets of these (dipped and main beam). They match my LED sidelights from T8ups and look nice and white.

Might get another set for the fogs if I can confirm that S Line fogs are H7!!

Are those H7s any good? Seen them mentioned a few times, not sure how they compare to the high end Philips or nightbreakers.

Are they white or do they have a blue tinge?

Been doin a bunch of research on lighting upgrades and had some info from T8ups, i'm pretty sure that the A3 SLine Fogs are H11. Spank me if i'm wrong though.

Trups sidelights are spot on. Can't wait to do his Interior Lighting Package mod.

The glass is smoked blue but when they're on they just look white.

I keep hearing conflicting stories. 8P3 are H11, 8P2 are H7. Like you I've also read 8P2 are H11 too.

When I can be bothered, I'll take a look at my own.

T8ups interior LED package is excellent, love mine, although roof lights were a bit bright so I spun them so they face upwards, much better.

Yeah, I've just been reading H11 for the 8P2. T8ups didn't have any in till next month but he does them.... A good place I've found for this info is Powerbulb.com These have a real good drop down menu system for finding exactly the bulbs for your car make, model and year. There prices are relatively high but great info and reviews. They only seemed to have an Osram bulb in H11.

Defo be doing the Interior LEDs. Point noted on the roof light too.......

Correct, don't let any website or person tell you any different, i bought some H7 bulbs for the fogs going from the power bulbs website when i came to fit them i realised they were H11 as it says this on the back of the bulb.

Your sportback is the same year as mine it is deffo H11 fitment for the fogs.

Dipped beam and main beam are H7.

Yeah, dead on man. The Powerbulb site has all the correct info as far as I've checked for A3 8P2. Rolled with those LEDs from Trups, look splendid. Got some free Osram H7s from a friend to fit tonight, but if they don't look right gonna roll with those Philips ones you recommended pal.

What year is your A3 S-line? Mines a 56 plate one and it's 100% an H11 fitment for the foglamps.

Got some of these fitted. Pretty good for the money although the ice sidelight bulbs are a bit underwhelming. Otherwise a decent cheap mod

Well combination of a small lottery win and some birthday money led to a lovely new bumper and a new grill. £120 seems steep for a bog standard bumper but it does have factory light washers and is the same colour as my car. Hopefully will match when it goes on the car and a good saving.Happy days. Just need to find a bonnet and the bits to retro fit the washers. Not too bothered about the washers but if I can get the bits at a reasonable price......

I have Osram 5000k lights and they are worth it especially the cheap ones they give off a nice white light, can I ask what LED sidelight bulbs you have as they look a lot brighter than mine and I'm after some brighter side lights, how many LEDs do they have?

Also I have been in the same boat as you recentlly doing some cheap mods, LaminX film on lights, Vinyl wrap bits of trim, Team heko wind deflectors, mudflaps, wheel nut covers, aluminium pedals.
I brought a snooper radar detector for £9 of ebay, wired it up to the dome lights, hid the wires in the roof and secured it by the top of the windscreen. invisibe from outside the car.
Cheapest and most satisfying mod (not really a mod but still sets it apart from your neighbours) - give your engine bay a damm good detailing.

well ambient light fitted. Piece of cake took about 45 minutes in total from removing the light from the roof to refitting it with ambient light fitted. Looks excellent. Also fitted some LED sidelight bulbs from t8ups which are immense. £25 for both jobs. Car looks fantastic. Happy bunny

I have osram night breaker as part of my mods. However they are not white compare to my LED side lights so I am thinking to get another set to make it match with my side lights. I want bright white so if anyone up here has got any suggestions then I will be much appreciated.
