A Little outing with the Impreza Boys

As some of may know, i chopped my ole Subaru WR1 in for the A3 3.2 DSG S Line.

A little concerned about the pultry 250 BHP compared with the 315BHP of the previous car.
The low down Torque and INSTANT throttle respons made up for it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway, joined in with the boys in a B road Blast the other day.
And guys who was up in the front ?

Quattro Power /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

From a standing start, the 3.2 is faster.
Its Fantastic on the twistie lanes, with the Imprezas rear ends all over the place !!

The Quattro 4WD kept me well planted to the road at all times.

The only thing i miss is the Exhaust Burble, but once up near the red line the Sheer Roar of The V6 makes up for it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is the 3.2 really that good? The only car I've driven hard with (against) was an S3. Although the 3.2 was faster in almost every area, I didn't think itwas Scooby fast!

Was it "a driver's race" or was the machinery that much better?

Thankyou S_line, I said this on tyresmoke and nearly got laughed out of the forum... I went head to head with an Impreza and although i didn't beat him, he couldn't shake me!

Yep, it was funning following the Imprezas through the bumpy narrow back lanes,

They were skipping and jumping al lover the place.

i was right on their rear bumper, with no skipping and jumping.

Didnt try it with the ESP off though ! LOL !

You should, it makes for much more fluid bashing! And the ESP will come back on, if ABS is called upon whilst drifting.

There were Import WRXs

UK Turbo 2000

NEw Age STi


There isnt a massive difference between the model range.

There was a Type R, which is faster on the B Roads than any other, but the type Rs are in a different ball park, with a GRoup N geabox which makes them very low geared, and with 300 BHP 300 LBs torque the Audi would not stand a chance.

The Audi holds it own with the Classic Imports,
and the NEw age ( heavy) Imprezas.
