Damn!

Flat tyre, and its buggered cos the other half drove on it.

So that 160 quid for a new tyre. Its only done 700 miles (I know but I've been very busy at work)

Thought I come for some sympathy.

Bugger! Not knackered your wheel if your Mrs drove on it has it?

    160 seems steep. 17" or 18" wheel?

Sorry mate, but no sympathy given out for letting the Mrs drive your car, we all know it will end in disaster; kerbed alloy, flat tyre, bumper scraped, tailgate hitting multi-storey car park roof, rear bumper hits ballads, etc.

Pah! I had to throw away my left rear after only 75 miles due to a shiny new nail sticking out of it. Cost 150 to fit a new P Zero Rosso.

That's a sickener mate, and sorry to hear. Are you married or just an item. If the latter, just get rid, it'll be cheaper

160 is robbery, I've had some stunning deals on 235 R14 18" Conti's for my A4 in the past from my local Kwik Fit of all places!, Paid 120/tyre last time I changed the front's. Hope they can do the same for my A3 when the time comes, and given they are 225's they should be a shade cheaper anyhow!.

That's 120 per tyre plus all the hassle of new alloys when the muppets at kwik fit damage them and then claim complete ignorance

    Re: Damn!

if your tyre centre has got your size in stock you`ll get a better deal if you ring them at 4.30/5.00 o`clock and tell them you want them fitted NOW, you might have to haggle, but at that time of day they`ll do more to get your money in thier till, especially if they`re having a day. Ahh, don't worry, it's just a tire... You'll shop around and get a decent price, get it fixed and be back to motoring bliss in no time...!

What is it, in the grand scheme of things?

    Re: Damn!

That's why I paid 50 for the tyre pressure monitor option on the Sportback.

    No one else got it????

    Re: Damn!

Was it really only 50 quid? I thought this was an error in the price list given the cost of the same thing on the A4 and A6. I assumed they'd missed the 2 from 250. Bugger!

I tried to order the tyre pressure monitor for my sportback but the dealer told me it wasn't available.

    Re: Re: Damn!

No not married, but we do live together, she felt guilty and paid for it. She also doesn't drink and is a very good driver (2nd time she'd driven the car) and was going to fill it up for me. So I think I'll keep her for now (and the girlfriend).

160 quid was a bit steep, but we where suppose to be going away for the weekend and I needed it sorting fast. I always deal with the same garage I've been going to for years and he said the conti where a very expensive tyre, could have done a pirelli cheaper but I thought that with it been new, same tyre on the axel (probably ****** but thats just me).

So you got Conti's with the S-line 3.2, I got PZero Rosso's with the Sport 3.2 - different wheel / tyre package?

    Re: Re: Damn!

I ordered mine in Dec and think that must have been when the option had just come out. It was in the brochure at the time but the dealer didn't know about it so I got in touch with Audi and they confirmed it, 50. A steal! You set it with one of the buttons on the dash, from memory next to the ESP OFF button, guess you must have a blank button there.
