Light problems after attempting Coming home light hack...Please help

Hi, I know theres a fair few threads on here about coming home lights showing what needs to be done and what problems people have had but I dont seem to be able to find mine on there.

Basically this is what happened. I have my neighbours laptop with full VCDS on it so I thought as I have it until Sunday Id do this little upgrad as it sounds like a usefull feature.
Anyway I followed the guide and usind a repair wire I connected one endt to pin 12 in block E and the other end I earthed to the bolt as shown in the guide. I had it conected to the block and then secured the earth point before reconnecting block E.
I then activted the coming home feature through VCDS via module 09, central electrics and checked bit 5 and 7 and saved the changed with the "Done, Do it" button.
I got out of the car and locked it, the lights stayed on for 30 seconds then went off and the same goes for unlocking. Perfect I thought...
However when I have the light switch in DRL mode I have the dipped headlights on, when I put the lights to dipped I have only DRL but all the amnient lighting comes on in the car as well as the dash lights and main beam is as it used to be, so basically the dipped and DRL seemto have been switched around somehow.
I thought Id remove the cable from pin 12 so I removed it from the earthing point and covered the end with electrical tape whilst I look into things. I used VCDS and unchecked the boxes and saved it again so its all back to as it was before I began.
Now the coming home feature is still active as it was and the light switch is still all mixed up as in the DRL and dipped settings are switched?
How is this possible? Ive put everything back as it was, ideally Id like to have the coming home feature but more so than that Id ike to have a light switch that works properly!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I forgot to add that I have already got the advanced comfort setting active through chanel 17 bit 82...

Looks like Im gonna have to take it in to Audi to have a look, Ive completely removed that wire and the coding is all back to how it was before but its F**ked...

Hi, I dont have Xenons or LEDs, I tried to touch the earthing point again ut it still the same. I tried just checking bit 7 too butthat gave me the same problem. Its odd because when I hook the laptop up to it its all showing as being unchecked, no option for coming home, leaving home have been selected at all. Maybe Ill go and scan the car for faults and post the log up....

OK hopefully someone might be able to help from seeing this log...I know the one fault on the boot light is because the bulb needs replacing...

Yeah I retrofitted the RNS-E myself...so its nothing coding related then?

Thats the other problem, it never showed up in the DIS at all, when I installed the footwell lights from RobinA3 and activated them, they show up in the DIS under the lights menu but the coming home lights never showed up on there at all. Im going to go and try connecting that witr back to pin 12, then connect a seperate wire to the eathing point. Sit in the car and lock it,then unlock it, the lights should come on then touch the two cables to see if that stops it. Its the only thing I can think of trying...

Nope that didnt work,I touched the cables and it didnt do anything whatsoever, do you think if I dissconected the battery for a while it might do something? Im running out of ideas? Even thinking should I be thinking about re wiring the connection on the back of the light switch so the DRL and headlights are the other way around. Knowing my luck though Id somehow blow the car up. How can something so simple have gone so so wrong?

Well disconnecting the battery for an hour did nothing, guess Ill have to take it to Audi...

The award for worlds biggest idiot goes to...me! Just thought Id update this, I took the car to Audi as I said I was going to. They booked the car in for an hour which should have been £114 and after a few hours they called me to tell me the news. They said there was absoloutly nothing wrong with my car, it had them stumped for a while as nobody (suprise suprise) had ever taken a car in with this problem. After trying to fix it for a while they decided to simply check with one of the new A3`s they had there and low and behold it was exactly the same. So on the plus side they didnt initially realise the DRLs are brighter than side lights, just like I didnt. On the plus side I had the car washed and waxed and a free health check and was only charged £28.
I felt a complete and utter fool but Im glad that Audi didnt charg the full whack, plus by me taking my car in to them they learnt something too, lol.
So basically the car was fine all along and the coming home/ leaving home lights work perfectly, the hack had worked all along.

So basically the issue ws that I never noticed, or knew the DRL`s were brighter than the side lights.
