Engine Code - Different on V5 and VCDS?

Bit of a weird one this...

My engine code is BWA (as per V5 and various HPI checks) but my VCDS Engine-01 label shows: 06F-907-115-AXX, which would suggest Engine Code AXX.

So which engine do I have?...

06f 907 115 axx is your engine control unit part number

So it could still be a BWA engine using a AXX ECU?

I know they brough out the BWA in 2007 and my A3 was registered in Febuary 2007 - very close to the change ovrer from AXX to BWA.

Unless you've had either swapped out at some point, I wouldnt worry.

I would ring audi parts, ask them to check the cu part number & engine code, also what your car shows up as for your vin, also check in your service book.
