Anyone know of anywhere I can get a decat downpipe for the TDI Quattro, asked Miltek and they don't do one. Going to fit a hybrid turbo soon so would like to decat at the same time before I get a remap to get the best from it. If I have to, I can decat it myself but would prefer to buy the proper part if it is available.

Anyone else done it that can share their experiences, looks like its going to be a pig of a job getting the pipe out?
 
i would a custom exhaust builder what about jetex remus ebay might throw a few more options
 
best way as said is to go custom, maybe not tho whole pipe, keep the join and cut from the cat away and then builb the custom pipe from there.

the flange that joins to the turbo aint really much bigger than the miltek in terms of size, about .25mm bigger.
 
Thanks for the link but it is for FWD, Miltek don't do a downpipe for the quattro as far as I can acertain.
 
I didnt even realise there would be a difference, the manifold and engine is the same size as a FWD aint it so i would have thought the downpipe would be too

as others say, take it to a specialist, cut the cat out and weld a metal pipe in replacement, wouldnt have thought it would be too hard for someone who knows what there doing
 
FWD down pipe will not fit a quattro as the 4WD system gets in the way. I would do the de-cat when you get the hybrid turbo fitted as he down pipe needs to be disconnected to fit the turbo. Either just cut out the cat and fit a straight piece of pipe which either bolts in place with some flanges made or use some V band clamps.
 
Thanks for the replies everyone, think I'll do as devonmikeyboy suggests and just cut the cat out and replace with straight piece of pipe for now, if I make it sectional with flanges it gives me options later. I looked at the Jetex site and they do a "sports" cat that I could fit by the looks of it and mate to a larger bore cat back exhaust later so I may look at this option also.
